Diagnostic Devices and Biosensors Laboratory (DiaBioSense Research Lab)

Assist. Prof. Emine GULER CELIK's LAB

Emine Guler Celik is Assistant Professor at the Department of Bioengineering in Ege University. She received her PhD in Biochemistry from Ege University, in 2017. During her post-doctoral period, she had 4-years of experience in molecular genetic field as Project Development and International Business Manager. Her main domains of expertise are lateral flow assay development, synthesis and modification of biofunctional nanoparticles/surfaces, design of electrochemical biosensors, point-of-care diagnostics etc. She is the co-author of more than 40 research articles on biosensors and diagnostics. She has just begun to lead a new research group named “DiaBioSense: Diagnostic Devices and Biosensors Laboratory”. She has also been the co-founder of a start-up company since 2021.

Research Fields:

  • Nanomaterials and bio-functional surface design
  • Design and application of in vitro diagnostic kits (IVD) and Point-of-Care biodevices with different methodological approaches
  • Lateral flow assays
  • ELISA-based tests
